Becoming aware is a process, and the transformative steps take place all during our lives. To be aware, or “Woke” as it is known from the Civil Rights era, is a noble space. One that every living being is entitled to and has the right to be. We are all born in this space, and then life gives us families and social settings that turn us either away or toward Divine Love. On this planet, the majority of us experience the turning away in our childhoods, and so our lives echo footsteps of those before us, and our own past lives, and we either reach for that first-born state or not. The wind stirs softly among the edge of this forest, and the hazel, wild cherry, oak and pine trees sway to the melody of the mystical breeze. The birds’ songs accelerate, getting louder and reaching a crescendo pitch, then like the crickets and cicadas choir, suddenly stop. Early this morning at 12:12 a.m. the last Full Moon of this decade appeared in the night skies above my home in the Nantahala Forest. If you want to let go of things, this is the time. It is a time to clear your mind, your home, your life, and start fresh. And a time to think about what you would like to manifest in this coming year and decade. In this season of peace, love and goodwill, give yourself time to reflect on what is most important to you in your life. And allow the beauty of this season to envelope you. Journeys of Hope by Teri Leigh Teed   “Where there is great love there are always miracles” – Willa Cather The Roman statesman and orator Cicero has been credited with a phrase familiar to South Carolinians. “Dum Spiro Spero”, which translates “while I breathe, I hope”, is the state motto. It is also the motto of numerous families, the Scottish clan McLennan, the village of St. Andrews in Scotland, and the once Kingdom of Sarawak. That three-word phrase has literally travelled the world countless times.
