The Tree of Peace
by Teri Leigh Teed
Here in this part of the Nantahala Forest, the Tree of Peace is Eleanor, Queen of the Meadow.
Eleanor holds court in this meadow, in a quiet cove surrounded by her family and friends. A sea of trees as far as the eye can see. A beautiful and peaceful place and in this season, a sea of green.
At night, what appears as darkness to our human eyes, is a different story seen through the eye of the camera. It is the sensitivity to Light frequency that creates the difference between our human perception and the camera’s image.
Even in daylight, the camera picks up hidden images that are unseen by our human sight. I learned this when photographing locations in South Carolina for my book “Mystical South Carolina: A Pilgrimage to Joy”.
For example, one day when I visited Healing Springs on my own, I photographed the site using the sepia and black and white settings, in addition to using the color setting on my digital camera. The sepia photographs revealed unique differences from the color photographs, namely fascinating shapes hidden amongst the trees.
It reminded me that we truly do see with our hearts, not just our minds. The camera’s eye does not have any mental blocks or subconscious distortions, or any brainwashing from past generations. Perhaps the camera is a link to the many levels of Consciousness, which exist simultaneously and like rivers flowing side by side.
We live in amazing times, and are gifted with healing every day through benevolent sources seen and unseen. I am so thankful for the gifts the camera brings to me and others.
