The forest has secrets to share
For those with eyes to see.
In late autumn when the trees
Bare their souls.
The Golden leaves remain
At the tops of certain trees
And an evergreen is revealed
That was hidden.
The strong winds that teamed
With the hickory tree’s angry
Pelting of branches and nuts
And dismantled the leafy
Boughs of many deciduous friends
Has failed to remove
The Golden leaves of late autumn
Who remain at their leisure
To decorate these hardy survivors.
To the victors!
The true value of their victory
Rests in the beating of hearts.
And souls who dare to give
Wings and soar with Eagles.
Filled with the Almighty’s love
And light.
God has a plan for each one
Of us
